The Samuel Huntington School Uniform Policy

Dear Parents / Guardians: As we start the 2011-2012 school years, we are excited to announce that we are establishing a mandatory uniform policy which will be enforced. This is a way of displaying our school pride and sense of school identity.

Students must wear a uniform everyday. The Samuel Huntington School uniform consists of a white shirt and navy slacks, or skirt. A sweat suit will be available for purchase to wear on physical education days.

There will be days which are considered non-uniform days which will be announced. Students who do not adhere to the uniform policy will be considered non-compliant, and disciplinary measures will be enforced.

b Student/Teacher Conference
b Reprimand by school staff
b Parent conference
b Reprimand by supervisor
b Removal of student from school activities

Uniforms are a way to promote and maintain good discipline. Wearing a school uniform will reduce distractions, and improve student attention. We believe wearing uniforms will set a serious tone within the school environment. Uniforms also detract focus from competitive and costly fashion trends/fads.

Thank you, for working with us to provide a safe, nurturing environment that is conducive to learning for your child. We appreciate the support and look forward to continued success during the school year.
